Open source as a career ladder
A merged pull request is a better signal than a certificate, and anyone can earn one.

Hiring managers read portfolios of private coursework with understandable scepticism. A public contribution history is different: it shows how you read other people's code, how you take review, how you finish.
We treat open-source projects as the middle rung of the ladder: after learning, before launching. Contributors get maintainers, reviews and credit, and a track record that travels with them.
The aim is simple. Anyone in Pune who wants a first meaningful contribution should know exactly where to go.
